Cosmetics FAQs

I have an “interface” product currently on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) that I plan to market as a Cosmetic, what should I do about the ARTG entry?

The sponsor of a product on the ARTG should maintain the ARTG entry for at least as long as it takes to “supply” the last of the “therapeutic” product, i.e. the last of the product that complies with all TGA requirements rather than NICNAS requirements.

Note that “supply” under the Therapeutic Goods Act 1989 means supply by the sponsor, not by other parties in the distribution chain. After the last of the “therapeutic” product has been supplied, the sponsor can choose whether to retain the ARTG entry.
