Assessed New Chemicals - Early Non-confidential Listing on AICS

If you are a holder of a current assessment certificate and wish to list your assessed new chemical on the non confidential section of the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS) before five years, you can submit a request to NICNAS for early listing. This means that the new chemical immediately becomes an existing chemical and other importers and/or manufacturers may introduce the chemical.

If someone else is holding an assessment certificate for the same chemical you applied for, NICNAS will write to each holder informing them of the proposed inclusion and whether they agree with the early listing.

There is no fee for early listing if the application is made within 28 days of the certificate being granted.

From 1 March 2006, all holders of assessment certificates submitting an application for early listing will be required to pay early listing fee unless the application is received within 28 days of the certificate issue date.

To apply for early listing on the non confidential section of AICS, an application form (Form AICS-2) is available in the Forms section of the NICNAS website.
