Industrys rate of compliance with the renewal deadline of 31 August 2005 for the registration year 2005-06 declined from previous years, continuing the low trends of renewal compliance.

The greatest part of the lag in renewal responses for the 2005-06 registration year (which runs from 1 September of one year to 31 August of the following year) can be directly attributed to first time, Tier 1 registrants. Approximately 24 per cent of introducers had still failed to renew by one month after renewal date. However regular debtors follow-up and compliance action up to 30 June 2006 resulted in 45 introducers still being investigated, pending renewal.

Figure 14 details registrants timeliness in renewing registrations over the last eight years. Additional information about NICNAS Registration is contained in the Management and Accountability chapter of this report.
