NICNAS encourages third party allegations as a way for those in the chemicals industry to promote fairness and safe practices. However, details of subsequent NICNAS investigations are kept confidential. This year NICNAS received five third party allegations from industry participants. Two of these were resolved in 2005-06, one was determined to be unfounded with the company being compliant with the Act, and another was referred to a state government agency because it did not come under NICNASs jurisdiction. The remaining three are still under investigation.
