In 2005-06, NICNAS provided input to DoHA activities of national regulatory interest such as the Banks Review Rethinking Regulation and the COAG Ministerial Taskforce on Chemicals and Plastics.

Technical input was also provided to the EPHC framework for National Chemicals Environmental Management , the Australian Crime Commissionís monitoring program for precursor chemicals associated with illicit drug manufacture and Prime Minster and Cabinet counter-terrorism activities.

NICNAS staff represent DoHA on Inter Departmental Committees (IDCs) such as the Chemicals Clearing House and the IDC providing advice to the National Nanotechnology Taskforce.
