During 2005-06 fourteen new chemical notifications arising from nine cases were submitted as a result of compliance action. Figure 15 shows the distribution of these across the notification categories. Of the nine cases relating to these new chemical notifications, eight were generated via self-reporting by the introducer. This level of self-reporting demonstrates the success of NICNASs Policy on Self Reported Cases, a policy which may allow introducers to continue trading while assessments are in progress (provided timeframes for submission of information and any other conditions for safe use pending the assessment outcome stipulated by NICNAS are met).
