As in previous years, most requests to search the AICS in 2005-06 were for less than ten chemicals per search request (92 per cent 149 out of 162). The remainder included nine search requests for between 11 and 20 chemicals, three for between 21 and 50 chemicals and one for more than 50 chemicals.

Since a $65 search fee was introduced by NICNAS, the number of non-confidential search requests has dramatically decreased and only one request was received in 2005-06. Three-year trend data for search requests and chemicals searched are shown in Table 15, with three-year trend data for chemicals searched per request shown in Table 16.
