In 2004-05, the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Arrangement (known as the TTMRA) commitment was taken between Australia and New Zealand to progress work to resolve the special exemption for industrial chemicals through a five-year work plan to determine which elements of the Australian and New Zealand schemes could be mutually recognised or harmonised. A progress report on the work plan was completed and forwarded to the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) New Zealand during the course of 2005-06.
