In 2006-07, 167 chemicals fell due for AICS listing on the basis of new chemical certificates issued five years earlier. For 24 of these, notifiers sought listing on the confidential section of the AICS. In considering the case for confidential listing, the Director must weigh commercial against public interest. NICNASís Technical Advisory Group (TAG) provided advice to the Director on this process (see Appendix 08).
