At 30 June 2007, NICNAS employed 45 full-time equivalent (FTE) staff.

Of these, 43 were permanent employees and 2 were non-ongoing staff. Four were on Australian Workplace Agreements (AWAs) and NICNAS paid performance bonuses of $17 248 during 2006-07. The staffing profile for NICNAS is shown in Appendix 20, where training and development activities for NICNAS staff are also reported. A total of 158.6 days of formal training (approximately 3.4 days for each person) were undertaken in the year, including orientation and induction training for new staff.

Staff contribution and involvement is encouraged through monthly and annual awards, monthly meetings and a closely managed performance development scheme (PDS).

Training in awareness of Australian Public Service (APS) values continued for all new staff and was offered to all existing staff. New staff also undertook customer service training. NICNAS conducted nine ‘in house’ seminars during 2006-07.
