In 2004-05, the Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Arrangement (TTMRA) commitment was taken between Australia and New Zealand to progress work to resolve the special exemption for industrial chemicals through a five-year workplan to determine which elements of the Australian and New Zealand schemes could be mutually recognised or harmonised. A progress report on the workplan was completed and forwarded to the Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA) New Zealand in 2006-07.
