NICNAS conducted an auditing process of the interim permits to ensure that the ingredients listed in the permit application were consistent with the label information and that they were presented as cosmetic products and not as products that should have been regulated by the TGA.

Forty-six companies lodged applications under the interim arrangements and 206 cosmetic permits were audited of which 117 were found to be fully compliant while 85 had a minor discrepancy, 19 of which have been rectified. Sixty-six remain outstanding and NICNAS is working with these interim permit holders to ensure compliance.
