REPORT ON THE NICNAS VOLUNTARY CALL FOR INFORMATION ON CHEMICALS OF SECURITY CONCERN

NNotice is given in accordance with section 20 of the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 (the Act) that the Director has amended the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS) as indicated below.
The AICS entry for CAS RN 147732-56-7 incorrectly stated that the maximum permissible concentration for this chemical in products was 0.0005%. The error was due to a transcription error. The correct value for this figure is 0.002%. The AICS record for this chemical has now been amended as shown below.

This chemical has been included in the Australian Inventory of Chemical Substances (AICS) under Subsections 15AA(1) and 15AA(2) of the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989, which enable the transfer of a chemical previously regulated by another Commonwealth regulator or a chemical that is in a product that was previously regulated by another Commonwealth regulator, and for which there is no current assessment certificate, and which is currently in use in Australia.

         It is not intended for use in the eye.

The chemical is deemed to be a new industrial chemical under the definition given in section 5 of the Industrial Chemicals (Notification and Assessment) Act 1989 if the proposed use does not meet the above condition.
